The Portsmouth Music Scene

CROMAT

The actual Tricorn Club lasted until Pleasurama took over the ownership in around 1974/5? re-opening as Gabriellas then Granny`s.
Tuesday nights at the Tricorn were Cromat nights at first mingled in with regular Tricorn nights.
And then came 'Basins'

BASINS

Basins, run by Chris Abbott and Jim Lawrence, in its first incarnation was in Palmerston Road Southsea at the Some Place Else Club before they moved to Basins at Kimbells then the Tricorn from 1985. The club hosted bands including – Lords of the New Church, The March Violets, Empti Fish & the Babysitters. The regular DJ was Jason Webster

PLEASE NOTE;- Most of the information below is taken from diary pages and posters and newspapers made available, but I am told that not all the booked and planned groups/bands played on the night.
