Portsmouth born Marilyn Cole became a trainee Bunny Girl on January 4, 1971
and then Miss January 1972 in Playboy magazine became the first full-frontal Playboy centrefold.
That issue of Playboy sold over seven million copies. She lived in Kassassin Street, Eastney Portsmouth.

However the Southsea Playboy Club's claim to fame is that Joe Jackson played there in a trio backing caberet.
Amidst his other cabaret-esque work in Portsmouth he had a brief stint as
pianist and musical director with veteran jazz drummer Mike Hutton from Southampton, and bass player Ray ? backing acts like
Carlo Dini, Elaine Del Mar, Kirk St James, Kim Davis, Tom Browne, Johnny Hillyard, Jabie Abercrombie, Chester Shadrack, Junior 'The Maori king' Jonsen,
Jean De Both, Trevillion and Nine, Frday Brown, Vince Everett, Love and Stuff, Pinky Steede, Pat O'Hare, Clive Lea, Hayden J Harvey, Tony Venner,
Dustin Gee, Iris Williams, Dave Wolf, Pat Mills, Ronnie Hayward.
