Who are we?

A change of venue was required so our name was updated after our move to Springwood Community Centre. We meet on Friday mornings and are a lively and friendly group. We welcome new writers regardless of their writing format, style or ability. The group don’t teach writing but learn a lot from each other and are happy to offer advice anytime. We have novelists, short story writers, playwrights, script writers and poets in the group.

We invite visiting speakers and authors in during the year to give talks and advise us. During the warmer months we have ‘Write-Out’ days and visit local places of interest in the hope of inspiring new works. Springwood Writers are an eclectic group from various backgrounds and skill levels. Some just enjoy writing for pleasure, others are looking to get published. As a group we look to produce a souvenir anthology book every year.
All our members are encouraged to submit work for this.

New members of any ability are always welcome to join us.
