James Perrett ran Watershed Studios in Alliance House St Mary's Road (The old Twilfit factory) from early 1989 to 1992.
Needing a bigger space Watershed moved to Unit F2, Cumberland Business Centre near Fratton Bridge in early 1992.
From mid 2000 James was running JRP Music at Empire House, Hereford Road Portsmouth.
The studio at Empire House
St Mary's Road opened in June 1989. We moved to Cumberland Business Centre near Fratton Bridge in early 1992 and Cranes took over the old place as their private rehearsal studio. We closed the studio in Cumberland Business centre sometime in mid 2000 (I'll have to dig out the relevant diary to be sure of the date). For the latter part of 2000 and the first half of 2001 I had a makeshift studio in Empire House, Hereford Road, Southsea which went under the current name of JRP Music. In the summer of 2001 I had Studio Schemes come down and build a very smart looking studio in the large downstairs room of Empire House which was in operation until we moved up here in December 2007.
